OGI Systems has announced that it will be manufacturing the new FacetScan Optical Scanner for the GIA. The scanner and its operating system were designed by OGI Systems in cooperation with the GIA. The agreement follows an eight-month development stage and a three-month Beta test.

The GIA FacetScan Optical Scanner, which is a non-contact and high-resolution measuring device for diamonds, is designed with the jewelry retailer in mind. The scanner can scan a diamond, gauge proportion measurements and provide an estimated GIA Cut Grade within seconds.
