Zale’s Christmas same-store sales rise 2.3%

Zale Corporation’s Christmas-season same-store sales rose 2.3 percent (on y-o-y basis) in 2012. The company’s revenues stood flat at $567 million, reports suggest.

Under the umbrella brand, the various branded stores also noted increase. Zales Jewelers and Zales Outlet saw a 3.1 percent increase (on y-o-y basis) in their same-store sales. Gordon's Jewelers noted an increase in its comparable-store sales by 2.2 percent. The fine jewellery stores in Canada, including Peoples Jewellers and Mappins Jewellers saw an increase in comparable-store sales by 2.7 percent. Piercing Pagoda’s same-store sales rose 1.7 percent. The company noted an expectation to close the fiscal year with a profit, reports say.
