Shop.org’s eHoliday survey conducted by BIGinsight indicates that online retailers will be quite eager to begin their holiday sales promotions. They plan to grab buyer attention, with free shipping deals and other exclusive offers, and the number of retailers eagerly wanting to begin their promotions by Halloweed has increased from 52,9 percent in 2011 to 61.6 percent this year. Thirty-eight (38.4 percent) retailers will begin marketing their online promotions by mid-November or later, notes the survey.

Shop.org’s eHoliday survey, noted that around four in 10 shoppers preferred online shopping mainly as it offered a 24 hour convenience, followed by free shipping; a clutter free environment and ease in comparing prices were other reasons cited for online shopping. NRF’s recently-released holiday consumer spending survey found more than half (51.8 percent) of shoppers will shop online, in the weeks ahead, which is the highest amount in the survey’s 10-year history – and 22.1 percent would be shopping in October, up from 20.3 percent last year. The thrust of online shopping is expected to be good this season, and as such online retailers are excited to plunge into this.
