GJEPC hosts open house in Jaipur office

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) the apex body for India’s gem and jewellery trade organized an open house in its Jaipur office, which was attended by officials of the Commerce Ministry of India – Dr. Siddharth Singh ,Jnt.Secretary Commerce Ministry of India, Sri. Virendra Singh,DGFT and Sri. Chandrabhan Custom Commissioner, and leading jewelers from Jaipur.

Rajiv Jain, chairman GJEPC delivered the inaugural speech welcoming the gathering. He reviewed various issues of the trade including: – Two percent of import duty on colored gemstones; Import duty on findings; Allowance of personal carriage from Jaipur as it is allowed from Delhi and Mumbai; problems faced by SEZ units and the need for a Gem bourse. Dr. Siddharth Singh assured taking up the matter of a Gem bourse with the state government.
