Amazon.com records 29% increase in revenues

At the close of the quarter of June 30, 2012, Amazon.com recorded 29 percent increase (on y-o-y basis) in its revenues, to $12.83 billion. The net income valued $7 million (it was $191 million in the corresponding quarter of last year).

Operating expenses rose 31 percent to $12.73 billion.

The online retailer did witness an increase in its sales across its North America segment and international segment. Sale of electronics and general merchandise, including jewelry, increased 38 percent to $8.16 billion.
