GIA (Gemological Institute of America) is organising a ‘Sales Excellence programme’ at its Mumbai campus, with a purpose to benefit the needs of retail sales teams. The programme wil debut on August 3, 2012 and will extend for two days.

The agenda of the programme will focus on transparency, product knowledge, building customer relationships and the concept of service. It will support and enhance the confidence of retail jewellers to accurately and effectively translate the GIA-created 4Cs of diamond quality and the International Diamond Grading System™ across the counter to their customers. With the use of case studies and role playing, the students will develop the attributes and qualities of a star salesperson.

“The jewellery sales staff are an important asset because they are the main point of contact for the customer,” said Nirupa Bhatt, managing director of GIA in India and the Middle East. “GIA’s new programme on sales excellence will help these retail sales professionals communicate brand and product value across the counter adeptly.”
