Botswana’s diamond exports drop 36% in May

In May 2012, Botswana noted a 36 percent drop (on y-o-y basis) in its diamond exports which valued $324 million, reports say. As per this data released by the Bank of Botswana, the country’s diamond exports in the first five months of 2012 dropped 20 percent to $1.5 ‎billion.

The data by the bank is sourced from the Diamond Trading Company Botswana, Leo Schachter ‎Botswana, ‎Teemane ‎Manufacturing Co., and the Central Statistics Office, as reports add. ‎
