The system integrates an innovative SPD technology

diamond world news service

SAWCUT, part of OGI Systems Group has introduced an innovative SPD technology in the SawCut diamond sawing system which gives diamond sawing a heightened result. The company had developed the innovative system at its labs for several years and in cooperation with rough diamond sightholder companies. The SPD technology allows sawing of Polaris diamonds with internal tension to be conducted in a safe manner and with minimum sawing waste.

The research and development process included sawing hundreds of stones to ensure optimal results. Attention was given to derive an ability to saw diamonds with internal tension in maximum protection, minimum waste percentage and a most smooth sawing surface. This system has been able to deliver results better than the systems used currently.

The unique software of the system gives optional ways to saw stones. Examples include: mass cassette for sawing 36 stones at once, a cassette for sawing of different shapes and a double-sided cassette for minimizing waste. The software interface was designed in a user-friendly form and in several international languages.
