Plans are afloat at French luxury brand LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA to enter into the Indian retail jewellery segment, in short time ahead, reports say. The company had acquired Bulgari SpA in May 2011, and is looking at brining it to Indian markets. LVMH already sells Bulgari jewellery and De Beers diamond necklaces across its other global retail outlets. In India, it has been retailing Tag Heuer, Zenith and Dior watches.

Prior to the acquisition by LVMH, Bulgari was present in India across six cities through distributors. And now after the acquisition, Bulgari’s Indian transition will follow its global transition which is currently ongoing.

As part of its Indian retail jewellery foray, LVMH is also considering to offer products from joint venture De Beers diamond jewellers in India.
