London-based gemological laboratory - Solitaire Gemological Laboratories (SGL) recently launched a branch in Pune, India, with a suite of services including mobile lab, sms and email notification, online certificate verification, customized certificates and their wallets, informative cd’s and books, retail events, retail staff training seminars etc.

This new lab marks the growth of SGL in India, to seven labs. The other facilities are located in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thrissur & Coimbatore.

A dignified audience including esteemed members of the diamond jewellery industry graced the opening of the lab, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Pune on 21st January, 2012. President of the Pune Saraf Association Mr. Fatehchand Ranka, also the chief guest at the occasion appreciated the presence of an international diamond grading laboratory in Pune. The lab will give retailers and suppliers of the city a convenience of getting their diamonds certified within the city rather than physically transferring all their goods to Mumbai or requesting for a mobile laboratory service outside of Pune.
