Amazon.com’s sales up 35% in Q4

At the end of three months closing December 31, 2011, Amazon.com noted a 35 percent increase in revenues on y-o-y basis to $17.4 billion. Its product sales jumped around 31 percent to $15.3 billion and business services were up 74 percent to $2.1 billion.

The online retailer noted a drop of 57 percent in its net income which valued $177 million at the end of the said three months. Also, the company’s operating expenses were up 38 percent to $17.2 billion. The sales at the close of its financial year rose 41 percent to $48.1 billion, but profit dropped 45 percent to $631 million.
