The World Diamond Council has for the third time selected to host its Annaul Meeting in Italy as it has decided to hold its 8th Annual Meeting between May 13-14, 2012, in the northern Italian jewelry center of Vicenza. Fiera di Vicenza, a leading Italian trade fair operator will host the show. "With the agreement on Marange at the Kimberley Process Plenary Meeting in Kinshasa last month, the way is now open to tackle some of the other pressing matters on the agenda," said Eli Izhakoff, WDC President. "These will be discussed at length at our Annual Meeting, including the issue of reforming the KP structure, of which the WDC has been a keen proponent. We are most grateful to Fiera di Vicenza for its gracious offer to host the event, and for enabling us to defend the integrity and reputation of the diamond and our industry."

"We are most excited at the prospect of being able to welcome the leadership of the diamond and jewelry industries to Vicenza, which is a city that for centuries has supported and been supported by the jewelry business," said Dr. Roberto Ditri, President of Fiera di Vicenza.
