With the beginning of its Magnificent Jewels sale in October 8, 2011, Christie’s New York will launch its fall season globally. The Magnificent Jewels sale offers 340 lots carrying a total presale estimate of $35 million. A 32.77 carat, vivid yellow diamond with a presale estimate of $6 million to $8 million is the top lot being presented in the October sale. The diamond is ranked by the GIA as amongst the rarest of gemstones in its class owing to its intense golden hue.

Other lost include: fancy colored diamonds in pink, blue and green, a 3.21 carat, pear-shaped, fancy vivid blue diamond ring, an 8.20 carat, pear-shaped fancy purplish-pink diamond ring by Tiffany & Co., six large D-color diamonds (the largest amongst these being a 25.74 carat, oval-cut diamond ring by Graff). The sale will also offer jewellery including fine diamond necklaces, earrings, brooches and bracelets.
