Botswana’s exports in H1 rise 33%

At the end of the first half of 2011, diamond exports ( rough and polished diamonds combined) from Botswana valued $2.42 billion, rising 33 percent over the figures in H1 of 2010. In the second quarter of this year, the diamond exports rose 22 percent higher than the first quarter of this year at $1.37 billion.

Exports in June valued $670.8 million. The country has been able to reach record level of exports in the first half of the year, reports say. Also, the H1 exports of 2011, almost reach the exports of the full year in 2010 , which valued $2.86 billion.
