This year, the Annual Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace this year, will bring an opportunity to see a special display of collections by renowned jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé. The exhibit entitled Royal Fabergé,will offer over 100 Fabergé pieces including tea set, cigarette cases, animal sculptures, a figure of a Chelsea Pensioner, picture frames and desk clocks, and the spotlight takers including the Imperial Easter Egg, the Basket of Flowers Egg, early 20th century Imperial Fabergé Eggs crafted with diamonds and gems.

The exhibition is s story in itself of the legendary association of Fabergé as a jeweller to the six generations of British royalty.

The Summer opening will also display the wedding items of Duchess of Cambridge, including her wedding dress, wedding tiara and earrings. The earrings were crafted by jewellers Robinson Pelham, in a motif of oak leaves with a pear-shaped diamond-set drop and a pavé-set diamond acorn suspended in the center. There was also a Cartier ‘Halo’ tiara, - made of 16 graduated scrolls set with 739 brilliants and 149 baton diamonds, each scroll being divided by a graduated brilliant with a large brilliant at the center. The tiara was made in 1936 and was now lent to The Duchess by the queen.

The exhibition will is slated from July 23 until October 3, 2011.
