IIGJ (Jaipur) invites entries for ‘Jewels of Rajasthan 2011’ competition

The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewelery Jaipur (IIGJ) is inviting entries for its ‘Jewels of Rajasthan 2011’ competition – an all India Jewellery Design competitive platform, with the last date for submission being 23rd Aug2011. This year, the competition theme is ‘Vibrant Colours’ and calls for applicants to render their interpretations of the theme in jewellery and fashion accessory designs.

The competition is open to all - professionals, artisans, and amateurs and applications do not carry any fee.

The competition is being conducted in two categories - Evening Wear Jewellery – where applicants need to design a neckpiece with earrings using colour stones in any Cut, Shape or carvings with the theme of Vibrant Colours. Diamond should be used to enhance the coloured stones and the value of the diamonds should not exceed double the value of coloured stones. The second category is Fashion Accessory- requiring a fashion accessory such as Belt Buckle,Head Gear, Mobile Cover etc to be designed with the competition theme using Colour stones, cubic zirconia and any other material (for example wood, leather, tissue, silk Resin etc).

The competition is being cosponsored by Bhuramal Rajmal Surana (Mfrs), JLN Marg, Jaipur, Jaipur Jewellery Show and Gemological Institute of America.
