diamond world news service

Rio Tinto is preparing to participate in the forthcoming JCK Las Vegas Show, with an outlook that the show would bring it an opportunity to support its Select Diamantaires and engage in important industry dialogue. It intends to highlight the factor of ‘sustainability’ in the jewellery industry through the various interactive platforms during the show. The event will include the exclusive JCK LUXURY program and is slated between May 31 to June 6.

Through the show Rio Tinto will participate in a number of educational programs, focusing on the value of sustainability, for today's diamond retailers, and producers, designers and wholesalers. It will share new trade and consumer research results, host a panel discussion with jewelry industry experts on these issues.

Yancy Weinrich, JCK’s Industry Vice President, “We are delighted that Rio Tinto will be highlighting these issues at the JCK forum. Increasingly the consumer wants to know that their jewelry has been produced with integrity and we have an obligation as custodians of the industry to discuss these matters.”

Rio Tinto is a founding member of the Responsible Jewelry Council and has been at the vanguard of reform to build better practices throughout the jewelry supply chain.

This will be the first time that Rio Tinto will host a booth at the fair.
