Israel’s polished diamond exports dip 47% in April

In April 2011, Israel noted a 7 percent increase in its rough diamond exports which valued $249.1 million. But exports of its polished diamonds dipped a good 47 percent to $256.1 million, reports add. But in view of the first four months, the polished diamond exports increased 24 percent to $2.41 billion. Rough diamond exports in the four month period rose 32 percent to $1.4 billion.

The country’s combined imports of rough and polished diamonds increased 32 percent to $739.7 million in April. In the first four months of 2011, the combined imports rose 35 percent to $3.13 billion.
