RJC certifies Fred Meyer Jewelers and Littman Jewelers

Fred Meyer Jewelers and Littman Jewelers is certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) against the ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards as per the RJC’s Member Certification System. The verification assessment was conducted by Specialized Technology Resources Inc. (STR), the first independent third party auditing firm accredited to the RJC’s Member Certification System. has achieved certification against the ethical, human rights, social and environmental standards as established by the RJC’s Member Certification System.

With this certification, Fred Meyer Jewelers and Littman Jewelers, which is the third largest fine jewellery retailer in the United States, has become the first RJC retail member solely trading in the USA to be certified.

Fred Meyer Jewelers and Littman Jewelers joined RJC in mid-2009, and have been promoting the RJC certification goal across the breadth of their retail operation. Peter Engel, president of Fred Meyer Jewelers and Littman Jewelers, said, ''Safeguarding consumer confidence in jewellery products in the United States and worldwide ensures the continued success of our entire industry.
