Indian jewellers predict good sales on ‘Day of Love’

diamond world news service

A week left to go, and jewellery retailers in India are pinning good hopes for the Valentine Day sale this year, and are expecting the segment of light-weight and fashion jewellery in gold, diamond and coloured stone, to attract buyers. This sentiment has driven jewellery retailers to launch new ‘season’ specific collections, especially in the ‘affordable range, which they predict will do well in churning sales.

The robust improvement in the economy and consumer willingness to spend, are key drivers, which retailers feel could add around close to 40 percent sales growth during valentine Day, from last year. Jewellery manufacturers are expecting also a 20-25 percent increase in exports of jewellery to meet international demand for Valentine day, following a similar positive outlook of improved buying behavior within markets across the globe.
