Christie’s International broke its record of global sales worth $395 million achieved in 2007, with its annual global sales in 2010, which rose by 56 percent rise (y-o-y) to $426.4 million. The sales at Christie’s Americas reflected the best performance as yet, reaching $130.5 million, so did Christie’s Asia where sales touched $163 million (spearheaded by Hong Kong auctions).

The top 10 jewels at Christie's global sales in 2010 include: Perfect Pink, a 14.23-ct. rectangular cut, fancy intense pink diamond ring (sale price: $23 million the most expensive jewel sold at an Asian auction); The Bulgari Blue (sold for: $15.7 million); a single strand jadeite beaded necklace (sold for: $7.2 million); a Cartier 49.61-carat Kashmir sapphire and diamond bracelet (sold for $6.9 million); a 6.89-carat rectangular-cut fancy vivid purple-pink diamond (sold for: $6.9 million); a 40.2-carat rectangular-cut D flawless diamond (sold for $5.1 million); a 155.17-carat total circular cut diamond rivière (sold for $4.7 million); a 5.01-carat heart shaped fancy vivid blue diamond ring (sold for $4.7 million); a pair of fancy deep blue heart-shaped diamonds of 2.48-carat and 2.03-carat suspending a pair of 10.12-carat and 9.64-carat pear-shaped diamonds (sold for $4.4 million); a heart-shaped 28.28-carat internally flawless diamond (sold for $3.7 million).

The auction house opines that a positive demand for colored and colorless diamonds, rare gemstones, and signed jewels have been witnessed in 2010.
