Berkshire Hathaway’s retail revenue up 2%

Retail includes home furnishing and jewellery

Warren Buffet run enterprise Berkshire Hathaway has announced financial results of its retail segment for the three months ending September 30, 2010. The respective revenues rose 2 percent to $652 million and pre-tax earnings by 36 percent.

The company’s retail segment offers four home furnishing businesses, See’s Candies and three jewellery firms: Borsheim’s Jewelry, Helzberg Diamonds and Ben Bridge Jeweler. It noted a good sales response mainly in its home furnishing segment.
