The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has launched its website after giving it a revamp to offer a stronger consumer focus, along with enhanced offerings for trade customers. The website is available on www.igiworldwide.com.

Consumer focus - The new version contains an expanded consumer section, “Everything You Always Wanted to Know,” with comprehensive educational pages on the importance of certification, the 4Cs, buying with confidence, jewellery care tips and a glossary of common fine jewelry terms, among others. The "Online Data Retrieval" module has been significantly broadened and allows any consumer to verify an IGI report issued in the last five years by entering the certificate number and weight of the stone.

Trade focus -The new website has educational offerings through IGI’s School of Gemology, and online registration, and a list of IGI’s trade services including diamond, jewellery and colored stone reports.
