Israel’s polished diamond exports rise 88% in July

Israel’s diamond trade in August 2010 ended with import of both rough and polished diamonds altogether valuing $583.4 million, a 36 percent increase (y-o-y). The country’s polished diamond exports rose 88 percent to $340 million (y-o-y) and rough diamond exports surged 84 percent to $221.6 million (y-o-y).

The country’s net diamond account ( valued as total diamond exports exceeding total diamond imports), saw a deficit of $21.8 million as compared to deficit of $127.7 million in the same month last year.
