Israel’s polished diamond exports increase 156% in July

July 2010 saw a spurt in the value of diamond exports from Israel, as polished diamond exports valued $458.1 million, rising 156 percent (y-o-y), while rough diamond exports increased by 48 percent to $314.5 million. The combined total of diamond exports, (including polished and rough diamonds) surged 98 percent to $772.6 million, and total imports by 64 percent to $746.4 million.

The country’s net diamond account (valued as excess of total exports over total imports) showed an increase to $26.2 million, from the negative $65.4 million witnessed in July 2009.
