OPENING day for the much awaited JCK show at New Delhi was not up to the expectations of the exhibitors

Shown a green signal on September 28, 2006 the prominent faces of the industry to make a presence at the event were Mr Jalaj Srivastava, MD, Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Mr Sanjay Kothari, Convener, Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) from India and Mike Allsopp, COO Reed Exhibitions India, Tim Porter, Director Business Development, Reed Exhibitions India and Dave Bonaparte, Group Vice President, JCK.

First day of the show was not up to the expectations of the exhibitors. Not many visitors were seen at the stalls, though the exhibitors are hopeful for the coming two days of the exhibition.

In his speech Dave Bonaparte expressed his thankfulness to GJEPC for their support. Jalaj Srivastava also acknowledged the effort that Reed Exhibitions has put in organizing the show. He further said that, �Delhi is a huge consumer of gold and will soon grow with the support of people. If the jewellery market gets more organized Delhi can become one of the largest jewellery markets.� Srivastava also proposed to build a special economic zone in New Delhi spread across 140 acres of land.
