KGK Diamonds (I) Private Limited has informed that its goods including rough diamonds 1636.82 cts (mainly South African origin 10per/ct & 3 per/ct) and polished diamonds 378.07 cts ( mostly melles, +11 and 5 per/ct of VVS/VS quality) were robbed on 28 March 2010. The robbery took place at the time the company employees were carrying the goods from the company’s Malad office in Mumbai, to its Borivali office also in Mumbai, by car.

The company has circulated a caution note within the industry urging fellow diamantaires and those in the industry trade associations to refrain from buying any goods they perceive as suspicious and to report the matter to the nearby police station.

In this matter, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) too has urged fellow members to assist the company in catching the culprits.
