HRD Antwerp to offer sealing service at Hong Kong International Show

HRD Antwerp is participating in the forthcoming Hong Kong International Show during March 5-9, 2010, and will be offering visitors at the event, to have their HRD Antwerp certified diamonds placed in a special safety seal. HRD Antwerp will have its separate booth in the Antwerp Diamond Pavillion at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

HRD Antwerp introduced its sealing service as a step in enhancing services to its clients. Sealing typically guarantees that the diamond and its relevant certificate go together, and prevents the gem from catching on grease and dirt. HRD Antwerp’s sealing holds the diamond while displaying its beauty.

The sealing is tamper-proof, with three safety mechanisms ensuring that once the package is opened it cannot be resealed. What indicates that the package has been once opened are disruptions in the wavy blue pattern on the package surface, fracture in the red electrostatic bars, and the words ‘SAFETY SEAL ANNULLED’ and ‘VOID’. The fractures in the red bars and the cryptoprint text cannot be undone anyhow, ensuring the package cannot be resealed.

The Belgian diamond industry will be represented by 55 Antwerp diamond companies at the Hong Kong International Show, and will be one of the largest participations at the event.
