Retail sales in India seem to be on the upswing during the ongoing Christmas season, reflecting a positive economic sentiment for retailers across the country, reports add. The product categories that stood out as the most popular buyers’ choices included jewellery, perfumes, apparel, toys and gifts, Christmas decorations and confectioneries, reports add.

Leading retailers have noted a 22 percent rise in sales year-on-year, and some product categories reflecting a 60 percent rise, in December, reports say.
