Gemfields has received encouraging buyer response during its auction of emeralds held in London. Dharmendra Tank, a participant at the event noted that apart from a well organised trading environment, the goods on auction were well graded, although of medium quality.

Rishabh Tongya, another participant mentioned that of the 35 companies participating, five were from Israel. The auction had total goods worth US$ 4-5 million. There were 27 lots in total, of which, 26 lots were completely bought by Indian companies, headquartered in Jaipur.

Gemfields is considering to host an auction in Mauritius during November, and one for lower quality emeralds in Jaipur after another two months.
