GJEPC plans a Town Hall Meeting for local diamond industry

The Council will invite Mr. Penny and Ms. Shine as speakers

The Gem and Jewellery Export promotion Council of India (GJEPC) is organising a Town Hall Meeting similar to the Town Hall Meetings held in Belgium and Israel in the recent past. The meetings have been a platform to invite the global diamond industry to network and share knowledge on industry development. The Council is inviting all members of its diamond panel and all diamond panel committee members and members of Committee of Administration to participate in the meeting on 28 July 2009, at the trident Hotel, Mumbai.

The meeting will host Mr.Gareth Penny, Managing Director, De Beers Group of Companies and Ms. Varda Shine, Managing Director, The Diamond Trading Company. Both dignitaries will deliver a talk on the current scenario of the diamond industry and will interact with the audience in a Q&A session moderated by well known industry analyst Mr. Chaim Even-Zohar.

The GJEPC intends the Town Hal Meeting to be a unique opportunity for council’s members and local diamond industry representatives from all sectors, to discuss the happenings in the world diamond sector and steps that may be necessary to come out of the current downturn in the world market.
