Rio Tinto has named the theme of its 25th Argyle Pink Diamond Tender as "Grand Passions", which will feature the rarest of pink diamonds ever to be sourced from the Argyle Diamond mine. The mining giant is offering 43 pink diamonds in the tender including four heart-shaped diamonds.

The tender is targeted at appreciators of exceptional rarity and beauty in diamonds. One amongst the four heart-shaped diamonds is a 2.61-carat heart-shaped intense-pink diamond referred to as "Argyle Amour" and is believed to be the most valuable heart-shaped pink diamond produced at the Argyle mine. Another two of the four heart-shaped diamonds are - a 1.25-carat purplish-pink round diamond named "Argyle Shalimar," inspired by the garden sanctuary built by the Indian emperor Jahangir for his wife. The second is a 1.10-carat oval-shaped red diamond known as the "Argyle Scarlett".

The tender would be taken for viewing to Perth, Australia, and Hong Kong during September. Rio Tinto has arranged to bring the tender to Mumbai during August, for the first time ever.
