Su-Raj Diamonds faces 4% fall in net sales

There was a 4 percent drop in the net sales recoded by Su-Raj Diamonds for the fourth fiscal quarter ended March 31, 2009. Net sales amounted to $145.3 million in this period. Net profit in the said three months dropped by 70 percent to $1.3 million.

The revenues from diamonds slipped down by 6 percent to $38.2 million, and that of jewellery by 3 percent to $107.1 million. According to the company’s consolidated financial results for the entire fiscal year, net sales increased by 16 percent to $533.5 million, revenues from diamonds rose by 8 percent to $137 million, and of jewellery by 15 percent to $353.2 million. Year round, the company’s net profits dropped by 42 percent to $8 million.
