DDC expresses grief over Mumbai attacks

Writes a note to Bharat Diamond Bourse

In response to the recent terror attacks in Mumbai, the Diamond Dealers Club expressed its condolences and concern over the event. Jacob Banda, president of the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC), and Basant Johari, DDC board chairman, issued a letter to the Bharat Diamond Bourse in the same context:

Dear Mr. Mehta,

On behalf of the Officers, Directors and Members of the DDC and their families, we convey our deepest and sincerest condolences at the tragic loss of life from last week’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai. All of us were shocked at the revolting attacks on innocent people by ruthless fanatics, whose purpose was to kill and maim as many people as possible.

We stand with the people of Mumbai and the citizens of India in calling for an investigation to bring to justice those responsible for these heinous acts. All of us must rededicate ourselves to working together to stop the spread of terrorism wherever it may be found.

Again, please accept our deepest condolences, and be assured that we stand side-by-side with you and your fellow citizens during this tragic period.
