India’s export of cut & polished diamonds slips by 20.40%

India’s export of gem and jewellery for October 2008 has seen a dip of 16.34 percent to US$ 1763.54 million, from US$ 2108.03 million in October 2007. Within this, the total export of cut and polished diamonds fell 20.40 percent to US$ 1241.06 million in the said month, while in Oct0ber 2007 it was at US$ 1559.15 million.

In the period from April to October 2008 overall export of cut & polished diamonds increased by 13.72percent to US$ 9277.37 million, while in the same period of last year it as at US$ 8157.88.
