Diamond Trading Company (DTC) will release cumulative price-increase data for the year, following a request by its clients, reports add. The company is expected to announce a "directional snapshot for the year", giving the cumulative changes in rough prices to date for 2008. The announcement is likely to be heard on August 15, prior to the sight expected to open in the week of August 18 2008.

DTC had announced a 15 percent increase in the price of large roughs during the July 7-11 sight. The prices have shown a continued increasing pattern.

The company has scaled prices of roughs looking at the prevailing market conditions, which reveals an increasing demand for diamonds especially of larger stones. This is the first time DTC has taken a decision to release price-increase data for the year.
