Mumbai designer wins Dalumi design competition

Has focused on the Dalumi ‘Yellow-Shade Diamonds’ in his design

Vishal Kanubhai Vaghasia was the winner amongst the 50 contestants who participated in the Dalumi Group’s recent jewellery design competition themed as “When The Source Turns Into Inspiration”. The designers were required to create jewellery expressing the feminine aura, using Dalumi’s "Yellow-Shade Diamonds” into their collections and single pieces.

Vaghasia has used the Yellow-Shade Diamonds as his main focus in design and juxtaposed them with white diamonds mounted on gold, creating a symbiosis of contemporary and classic. The deisgns can be worn as everyday wear or on special occassions. Dalumi will use these winning designs for its new collection.

Vagahsia is a Mumbai-based 24-year jewellery designer who has grown in his career through cutting and grading and into designing. He seeksing inspiration in the various elements of nature for his jewellery designs.

The Dalumi design competition was judged by Alan Woolff, vice president of Merchandising at ICE.com, Hedda Schupak, editor-in-chief of JCK magazine, and Vered Dalumi Itzchaki, managing director of Dalumi. The deisgn competition moves in sync with the Dalumi opbjective of encouraging new styles, shapes and materials in jewellery deisgn.
