Belgium polished exports rises by 27 percent

India has been one of the highest importers of Belgium’s polished diamonds during the months the January to April period. During these months, Belgium earned a total export rise by 27 pecent to $4.26 billion. Exports to India more than tripled (+202%), amounting to $182.98 million.

UAE was another high importer of the Belgium polished diamonds. In the UAE, Belgium exports increased by 51 percent, amounting to $339.55 million according to reports from the HRD Diamond Office.

In other regions like the US, Belgium polished exports increased by 12 percent, by 38 percent to Hong Kong, by 32 percent to Israel and by 30 percent to Switzerland. Belgium’s year-to-date polished diamond imports also saw a growth of 34 percent, valuing to $3.69 billion. Rough imports rose by 18 percent and rough exports by 11 percent.
