On 25 June, Netflix will release 'The Ice Road' - a Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne starrer that centers around a rescue mission of miners trapped in a Canadian diamond mine.

Along with a team of truckers, the duo must come together to cross a thawing ice road to save the miners in less than 30 hours - all this amidst corporate interests, gritty secrets and more! While the story is ostensibly fictional, the Ice Road aka Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road actually exists.

The road is a joint venture between Rio Tinto, Arctic Canadian Diamond Company and De Beers and is an important route used to transport supplies to respective sites.

Will The Ice Road have the same impact The Blood Diamond had? Maybe not. But, it will still be interesting to know the stand the movie takes, on diamond mining conglomerates and its mining workers who are in their mercy more often than not!
