eBay reveals top diamond and watch sales of 2019

E-commerce retailer eBay has released its “Most Interesting and Expensive Purchases” of 2019, summarizing the most notable purchases among millions of buyers. Among these items are luxury watches and fine jewellery.

Heading the top jewellery list is a gold ring set with a 5.01-carat yellow diamond and side stones, sold for $65,950. A 7.31-carat light yellow Princess cut diamond ring in platinum, sold for $55,000, is second on the list. Third on the list is a Tiffany’s diamond engagement ring with a 2.52-carat diamond ($41,500). Fourth is a 8.84-carat sapphire diamond ring ($40,000), and closing the top five is a Roberto Coin Cento 2.008-carat diamond engagement ring, sold for $36,000.

Heading the list of the top luxury watches bought on eBay in 2019 is a men’s watch – the Grand Complications Calendar Manual Gold by Patek Philippe – sold for $139,500. Another Patek Philippe watch is second on the list – the Grand Complications Perpetual Calendar Chrono Watch – which sold for $125,000.

Third on the list is a Rolex 18 Kt Rose Gold Masterpiece Pave Diamond Bracelet, which sold for $100,001. A Richard Mille Automatic Chronograph in Rose Gold/ Titanium is fourth, sold for $96,900; and a Rolex Daytona White Gold Auto 40mm Diamond Strap Deployant closes the top five. This particular Rolex sold for $89,950.
