ALROSA to hold 34 auctions for large rough diamonds in 2020

ALROSA plans to hold 34 international auctions for special size rough diamonds (weighing over 10.8 carats) in 2020.

In Q1, the company will have seven auctions, in Q2 - eight, in Q3 - seven, and in Q4 - 12 auctions.

The largest number of auctions, eleven, will take place in Moscow, three auctions will be held in Vladivostok. Other tenders will take place in largest international diamond trading centers, where ALROSA has trading representative offices. The company will have three auctions in Antwerp (Belgium), four - in Dubai (UAE), five - in Ramat Gan (Israel), four - in Hong Kong (China), and four - in New York (USA).

"Russian law stipulates that special size rough diamonds (weighing over 10.8 carats) must be auctioned. In general, such auctions attract up to 100 companies from different countries. Auction sales currently account for about 10% of our overall sales volumes", said Evgeny Agureev, Deputy CEO of ALROSA.
