Christie's New York Sale to be a unique one this year

Will offer a range of rare and prized collections by celebrities, designers.

For its forthcoming New York Sale, to be held on April 16, Christie has identified to deliver a treasure trove of jewels to its attendees. A selection of rare colored gemstones, diamonds and jewels will be offered on behalf of important estates. From the Harry Winston collection are a rectangular-cut D color, potentially flawless diamond ring of 27.91 carats (estimate: $2,000,000-3,000,000), another identical ring crafted using simulated diamonds, a pear shaped, D color, potentially flawless diamond ring of 21.90cts (estimate: $2,000,000 – 3,000,000), a rectangular-cut D color, internally flawless diamond of 18.44cts (estimate: $1,620,000 – 2,200,000).

From the House of Bulgari: a 40.39 carat fancy intense yellow rectangular-cut diamond (estimate: $500,000-700,000), a pair of fancy yellow diamonds of 29.08 and 28.19 carats (estimate:$800,000 – 1,200,000), a daisy flower brooch (estimate: $60,000-80,000) with yellow diamonds, emerald and sapphires. Verdura offers a yellow diamond leopard brooch (estimate: $15,000-20,000), with emeralds, onyx, rubies and diamonds. Author Danielle Steel has added her bit a collection including a diamond and black coral owl brooch, by Van Cleef & Arpels (estimate:15,000–25,000) and a pair of sapphire and diamond “Trumpet Flower” ear clips, by Jean Schlumberger, Tiffany & Co. (estimate: $18,000–22,000).

Rare diamonds to be featured include a pair of pear-shaped D-color, internally flawless diamonds of 4.56 and 5.06 carats with Type IIa classification, the most chemically pure type of diamond with exceptional optical transparency (estimate: $750,000–1,000,000). A diamond Riviere necklace with fifty-four graduated circular-cut diamonds totaling 76.41 carats (estimate: $500,000-700,000). A rectangular-cut D color, internally flawless diamond ring of 16.89 carats, flanked by two heart-shaped diamonds designed by Carvin French (estimate: $1,100,000-1,800,000).

From David Webb will come a ruby and cultured pearl necklace commissioned by Doris Duke made of 14 cultured pearls and 1,136 rubies (estimate: $80,000-120,000). From the House of Winston, the sale offers a pair of cultured pearl and diamond ear pendants designed as a marquise and pear-shaped diamond cluster with interchangeable black or white cultured pearl drops and pavé-set diamond cap (estimate: $200,000-300,000). Tiffany & Co. is represented by an extremely fine Colombian emerald and diamond ring of 7.86 carats (estimate: $250,000-350,000). The viewing of all the auction offerings is at Christie’s Rockefeller Galleries from April 11 - 15.
