The cut and polished diamond industry are really happy with Rapnet's decision to go against listing price of synthetic diamonds. Earlier last week, Martin Rapaport asked the industry if they wish to see a price list for synthetic diamonds and create a "natural diamond organisation".

The voting had begun on from Sunday (26th) and will go on till 31st (Friday). About 75% voted against publishing synthetic diamonds while 79% voted against listing synthetic diamonds on Rapnet.

Had the majority of members voted in support for a price list of synthetic diamonds, it would have been detrimental for the Indian diamond industry. The unanimous vote against the proposed synthetic diamond price listing also goes to show the solidarity of the natural diamond fraternity accross the world.
