HRD lab to hold symposium on synthetics

HRD Antwerp Research will be tackling the issue of treated and synthetic diamonds, in a symposium to be held at the HRD building in Antwerp, Antwerp Facets News Service (AFNS) reported. The symposium entitled "Treated and Synthetic Diamonds: Newest Developments" will be held on October 24.

Georges Brys, General Manager HRD Antwerp NV, Yves Kerremans, Head HRD Research will make the opening speech. Industry representatives will deliver lectures on specific subjects. Jay Neogi - Chief Executive Officer of Serenity Technology will be speaking on Serenity color enhanced diamonds; Philip Martineau of the talk on colourless and heat treated brown CVD synthetic diamonds; Jef Van Royen, of HRD Research will speak about HPHT treatment of IaB diamonds; and John Chapman, Manager Diamond Technology at Rio Tinto Diamonds will touch upon techniques for detecting natural pink diamonds.
