diamond world news service

The prominent tool to learn about colored diamonds this year was the Natural Color Diamond Encyclopedia online by Arthur Langerman. It was originally intended for trade but is providing exactly the kind of information consumers seek as well. Natural Color Diamond Encyclopedia defines for its readers "natural color" and "treated color," it explains the grading process, and the market demand for colored diamonds.

Bloggers and librarians praise Langermans website for its design and ease of use. In November the Tucson Citizen listed Langermans website for its readers to "learn plenty" about the provenance, history, and science behind the colour stones. Library (data collection) services company SirsiDynix, rated the Natural Color Diamond Encyclopedia at No.7 for best websites in early in 2005.

Langermans website has all the design elements, which makes for a positive user experience, reported USA Today. The national newspaper considers quality of design, use of images, taxonomy (navigation and terms,) and relevant information to links when assessing its monthly list of Top 10 websites. USA Today ranked Natural Color Diamond Encyclopedia in the Top 10 in January 2005.
