Tracking the Magnificent Jewels auction by Christie in New York, Christie yesterday sold jewels for a total of $24,3 million. The top lot was a D-flawless diamond weighing a 53.71 carats, which was bought for $5,753,000. It has been dubbed Dubai Magnificence by its new owner. With the sales of yesterday, the US annual auction sale now totals to $120 million, which is the highest sale ever generated by the American jewellery auction market for the second consecutive year.
