GJEPC takes its GST awareness seminars to Jaipur, Surat

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council held seminars in Surat and Jaipur for the gem and jewellery export industry to be better aware of the GST rule that is soon coming into effect in India, reports say. GJEPC has taken this initiative to spread awareness across India’s key gem and jewlelery manufacturing centres.

The seminar took place in Surat on June 9, with an attendance of exporters. Two prominent CAs, CA Nirav Jogani and CA Mukund Chouhan addressed the participants with information on details of the new system and its required process in registration and filing of returns. There was also an interactive question session. GJEPC took the opportunity in Surat to also launch a ‘GST Sahayata Desk’ on June 12 to give guidance and assistance to the industry. It consists of a panel of members nominated by the Western Regional Council (WRIC) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The Desk will be open at the GJEPC Regional Office in Surat every Monday and Thursday from 4.30 - 6 pm, reports add.

GJEPC extended its seminar in Jaipur along with the Jeweller’s Association on June 12. Four senior CAs addressed the seminar offering practical guidance. A seminar in Vadodara was also held with information on GST and MSME schemes.
