According to reports, Botswana’s President Festus Mogae has expressed his concern towards ensuring that the bilateral agreements entered into with India are implemented and that economic relations between the two countries are strengthened.

Mogae shared the opinion at a dinner hosted for an Indian delegation, which included Shreyas Doshi, the managing director of the DTC sightholding Shrenuj & Company Ltd, and Govind Gaiha, the managing director of Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL).

The delegation was in Botswana to follow-up on the deals that were made during Mogae’s visit to India last December.

While in India, Mogae signed four major agreements, including one for bilateral cooperation, the pan-African e-network agreement and the programme for cultural cooperation for the period 2007 to 2010. He also met with private sector representatives from the gem and jewellery industry and invited them to establish cutting and polishing units in Botswana.
