SA rough diamond exports drop by 6 percent in Feb '07

Rough imports for Feb accounted for $81 million

As per the data by South African Department of Industry and Trade, the rough diamond exports of SA fell to 6 percent to $169 million in February 2007.

The country imported $81 million in rough during the month.

The net rough exports (rough exports less rough imports) fell 16 percent to $88 million in February.

net polished exports (polished exports less imports) declined 16 percent to $49 million.

South Africa's February net diamond account (net rough exports plus net polished exports) fell 16 percent to $137 million.
