GJEPC holds seminar on Demonetization and Opportunities for G & J Sector’

In the wake of the current phase of demonetization that is underway in India, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), Surat held a seminar with the backdrop of the same, as per reports. The seminar focused on ‘Demonetization and Opportunities for G & J Sector’ and took place on January 3, 2017. It was the second seminar held in the city on the same subject.

Diamantaires, with a significant number being the smaller manufacturers attended the seminar. Among the topics touched upon by an eminent list of speakers included the gem and jewellery trade in current times, government schemes announced and role of banks, benefits that accrue from implementing labour laws and statutory compliances, schemes announced by EPFO and details on taxation, as per reports.

The panel of speakers featured Shri Govind Dholakiya, Founder and Chairman, Shree Ram Krishna Exports; Shri Savji Dholakiya, Founder and Chairman, Hari Krishna Exports; Shri Keshu Goti, Chairman, Glow Star; Shri Piyush Bhatt, AGM, Region- II, State Bank of India; Shri P. K. Tiwari, Regional Commissioner of PF – II and Shri Ramesh Vaghasiya, Chairman, Vaghasia Group of consultants, as per reports.
